It took time to recognize women wrestling on level with men’s wrestling. Still divas as manages are preferable, still outside of WWE there are organizations, which promote women wrestling as a serious sport.

The Japan federation of women wrestling has always presented women wrestling as a serious, highly athletic sport not less significant that those of males’. Till nowadays lots of women are fond of wrestling and compete in various federations. Although women wrestling have a long history it is still referred to exotic activity and the majority does not accept it indifferently. The most part of wrestlers are men, which use different wrestling styles, like lucha, brawling or high flying.
